Islamic Paintings

Islamic paintings have long been the awe of the art world. With a variety of influences stemming from countries across the Arab world, Islamic paintings consist of elements such as architecture, religion and calligraphy. Aziza Essa has mastered the ability to produce these master pieces on all levels.

Islamic Paintings uses calligraphic images heavily in to create shape and form which dictates a journey and an emotion to successfully communicate the artist’s idea to the viewer. Aziza Essa uses Islamic paintings to create a vivid combination of form and medium. Alongside this she uses both fluid shape and rigid shape, in her Islamic paintings to create an honesty about her experience of the world and particularly her internal experience, her emotional journeys, joys and turmoil of life. Central to her creativeness is her spiritual experience and this is apparent in Aziza’s work.

In her younger days, the majesty of Islamic paintings and Arabic paintings inspired Aziza. Her love for Islamic paintings followed down her lines of personal and intellectual development and a large part of her Islamic paintings are sourced from the various ethereal experiences she has encountered. It is her current and deep belief that Islamic paintings can help towards bridging misunderstanding about Islam and she is delighted to be a part of that bridging process.
